Cunard Cruise Line
BackgroundCunard line, who operate the most famous ocean liners in the world, wanted to create a micro-site for the new cruise liner Queen Victoria. They were looking to enhance the experience for their online visitors, which would generate excitement of their cruises and stimulate more bookings. The opulence and grandeur on board was such that the quality needed to be portrayed, which wasn't achievable with still pictures and text. ApproachAfter initial consultations, it was clear that Cunard required something extra special, so that visitors can almost taste the ambience on board. Contrast's creative expertise enabled us to suggest embedding video into 360° virtual tours. It was important to also provide a narrative, so that the experience was much more interactive, therefore, relevant staff presented the tours and guided the visitor with an explanation. SolutionA series of high-quality imagery. These included 360° virtual tours with embedded video, very high-quality floor-to-ceiling panoramas, video walk-through and dramatic videos which capture the experience of sailing. Presenters provided visitors with narration on the virtual tours. ResultsThe site was so successful that within a few days the number of visitors flooded the site. As a result they ordered another set of virtual VR's for Queen Mary 2. |
