Based at: Bournmouth.

Job purpose:
To create first class creative design, content and production material for a wide range of applications and clients including, but not limited to; Conceptual design, Graphic design, Illustrations, Web design, CD ROMS, animations, photo shoots, video shoots and the participation in other creative pursuits not yet known to the job.

Sales support will be required in quiet times.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. You will be required to work on creative based projects, often carrying a project from initial brief from the customer to delivery of the finished product. Your design and production skills must be first class.

2. Help develop and build new creative solutions within a specialist and untapped market place.

3. Design and build specialist presentation, we call VSP “Virtual Sales Presentation”. This product is a marketing concept that differentiates Contrast Design from all other agencies. You will be expected to help build on the style of presentation and help Contrast Design establish itself as the market leader in this area. You can see an example of our VSP on our website.

4. You may be required to work with subcontractors and be responsible for leading projects. Alternatively, you may be required to work in isolation. In either case it will be your responsibility to ensure the quality of your work, and ensure any work that you are responsible for, meets the customers brief and expectations.

5. You will be expected to help design and build other products currently in the pipeline.

6. You will be required to support the growth of the company and help with sales support and marketing activities.

7. Where training is required we will do our up most to provide it, however you should be self-motivated to learn new techniques and software tools.

Key Skills Required:
1. Advanced Photoshop skills
2. Flash skills
3. Some knowledge of Web design and build
4. Some knowledge of Video work
5. Strong interest in motion graphics
6. Excellent overall computer literacy

Key skills that would be advantageous:
1. Action Script
2. A understanding of HTML using Dreamweaver
3. Video or film expertise
4. Photography and lighting skills
5. Video editing and DVD production
6. Video compression
7. After Effects
8. Final cut pro
9. DVD Studio Pro
10. Storyboarding and marker work

You may be required to learn these skills if not already possessed.

Sound spelling and grammar skills would also be advantageous.

A forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Fun, credible, and comfortable dealing with customers from all walks of life. Reliable and determined. Empathic communicator, able to see things from other people’s point of view. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel and work until the job is done when deadlines are important. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.

Management Ability:
Though internal staff management is not initially part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the business, for example the prospect of managing and monitoring a junior designer and eventually a team.
